What documents can be protocolized?

  • Meetings: Formalization of agreements related to amendments to bylaws, corporate name, corporate purpose, capital movements, granting of powers of attorney, administration, transformation, spin-off, dissolution, and liquidation of Companies.

  • Foreign Powers of Attorney: Protocolization of powers of attorney granted abroad, once apostilled or legalized, and, where applicable, translated by an expert translator, so that they may take effect in Mexico.

  • Contracts: Formalization of contracts that may be subject to protocolization and incorporation into the notarial protocol.

  • Permits: Protocolization of subdivision, merger, and lotification permits for regularization and modification processes of real estate.

  • Incorporation into the Notarial Protocol: Integration of documents whose protocolization is not required by law; however, their incorporation into the notary’s protocol may be required for safekeeping and documentary record.

It is the act by which a pre-existing document is incorporated into the protocol of a Notary Public, granting it a certain date, document preservation, and the possibility of issuing testimonies or certified copies thereof.
